Building an Inclusive Workplace

Our Commitment to
Inclusion
Fatima Group recognises that a truly responsible business creates opportunity for every member of the community it operates in, including persons of determination. Since 2023, the Group has partnered with the Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF) under its Deaf Reach programme, which provides education, vocational training and life-skills development to deaf children and youth across Pakistan.
This collaboration forms part of Fatima Group’s broader Diversity, Equity & Inclusion agenda, structured under the Group’s “People of Determination” pillar, and reflects our ongoing effort to align with national labour regulations and international standards on disability inclusion in the workplace.
Sponsoring Education,
Every Year
Our support to Deaf Reach began with annual student sponsorships and has grown steadily since. For 2026, Fatima Group has approved a donation of PKR 2.7 million to sponsor 15 students, contributing directly to the educational and vocational programmes that prepare deaf children and youth for independent, productive lives.
From the Classroom
to a Career
In 2023, Fatima Group launched an Internship Programme at the Head Office for differently abled persons in collaboration with its CSR partners. Building on this, the Group partnered with Deaf Reach to bring four deaf interns on board, two placed in the Service Delivery department at the Head Office, and two stationed at the Fatima Fertilizer (FFT) plant site.
Ahead of the internship placements, Fatima Group organised a dedicated sensitisation session at the FFT Plant Site on 3 October 2023, led by Daniel Marc, Director of Operations at Deaf Reach. The session focused on the importance of empowering the deaf community through education, skill development and employment, and helped prepare employees to welcome and work alongside their new colleagues.

Making Our Facilities
Accessible
The internship programme prompted Fatima Group to take a closer look at its own physical infrastructure. As part of the “People of Determination” pillar of our DEI strategy, the Group carried out a series of infrastructural adjustments across its sites to ensure interns and employees with disabilities could move through and use our facilities safely and independently.
- Ramps installed at the Learning & Development Centre, Staff Club, Mosque, Management Club and Medical Centre
- Accessible, clearly signed washrooms introduced at the Lab, MCR, CCR and Management Club
- Emergency evacuation lighting installed in the office to support safe, independent evacuation

Meet Faraz Bhatti
Industrial Relations Officer
Faraz joined Fatima Group as our first employee of determination, deaf and mute, marking a milestone in the Group’s inclusion journey. He is supported day-to-day by trained buddy colleagues and by the accessible infrastructure now in place across our sites.
Today, Deaf Reach interns and employees, including Faraz work alongside their Fatima Group colleagues at the Head Office and the FFT plant site, supported by accessible infrastructure, trained buddy colleagues, and a workplace culture that continues to grow more inclusive each year.
Looking Ahead
Fatima Group’s journey with Deaf Reach, from student sponsorship, to internship, to facility upgrades, to full-time employment, reflects a broader commitment: that social responsibility should create real, lasting pathways to opportunity. The Group remains committed to sustaining this partnership, expanding accessible infrastructure across its sites, and continuing to welcome persons of determination into its workforce.
