Sarsabz Tabeer – Seeds of Change

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate and empower rural women—the hands that nurture our fields, feed our families, and strengthen communities across Pakistan. Through the Sarsabz Tabeer campaign, we spotlight their journey from hard work to opportunity, highlighting how access to skill development, healthcare, education, and financial empowerment is enabling them to become agents of change.

Launched by Fatima Fertilizer, Sarsabz Tabeer is our flagship women empowerment programme dedicated to integrating rural women’s voices into Pakistan’s agricultural narrative. Built on four key pillars—education, financial aid, skill development, and health—the initiative equips women with practical tools to achieve financial independence and long-term resilience.

In partnership with Akhuwat Foundation and USAID trainers, the programme has delivered more than 20 trainings, empowering over 4,000 women with entrepreneurial and value-addition skills. Participants are now transforming surplus crops—once lost to Pakistan’s high food waste levels—into marketable products such as ketchup, jams, and pickles. Supported by financial assistance that enables women to start small businesses, and healthcare outreach initiatives in collaboration with Mukhtar A. Sheikh Hospital and the Government of Punjab, Sarsabz Tabeer is helping rural women move beyond survival toward self-reliance—creating sustainable impact for families and communities alike.
